This revolutionary work of engineering transfers boats from one height to another, linking two canals with water levels 115ft apart. It could lift 600 tonnes of water (and up to a 20m long boat) over 35m in less than 4 minutes. What amazes me is that, apart from its stunning design..this boat lift only uses the same amount of energy as two boiling kettles per turn! Miraculous!
